So, my birthday is long over...

Someone mentioned doing something tonight. I think it was in an email or on facebook, but I can't find it and I never posted it! I know it was a movie. Who was it??!?!?!!!


Oh, found it....it's AMBER. 9:30pm, "Julie and Julia", Sandy theatre. Oh yeah.

I may be up for that.

No GNO this week in honor of my birthday

We're not going to do GNO on Monday. We're doing something fun on Friday, MY BIRTHDAY, instead. Check my main blog for more info.

I'm not thinking of doing GNO tonight unless anyone else is dying too. I may go over to the Taylor's and do some garage cleaning if anybody's up to that kind of fun. :)

GNO, Monday, Sept. 28th

Alanna is moving (sniff, sniff). This Monday will be her last GNO and her husband will be gone.

So, we're going to do dessert FONDUE at her house (and maybe games?). If you are coming we may assign you an ingredient to bring such as: strawberries, bananas (unless Nicole comes), pound cake, cookies, marshmallows,...or whatever else would be good dipped in CHOCOLATE.

General Relief Society Meeting

Ladies! Anyone interesting in going downtown to the Relief Society meeting this evening? We have access to lots of great tickets {in the front off to the side}. We're leaving at 4:30pm {everyone needs to be seated by 5:30pm}. If you would like to join us {and we hope that you do} leave a comment and Malisa will come pick you up.

Just realized it's Monday night. Daniel is still at work and I've been really focused on carnival stuff. If I can get through what I need to do here in the next 45 min, I may watch "Bring it On:Fight to the Finish" by myself. How exciting.

GNO, Mon. Sept 13th

YES, we are doing SOMETHING. Just don't know what yet.

I need to get out or at the least have some girl time.

I'm always up for a game night/treats. I could do it every week. However, we seem to get the best turnout if we go somewhere. Hmmmm.

Bowling again?
Movie at theatre?
Movie at home?
Games - maybe something new/unique and fun?
Other ideas?


Oh, HEY, what about a simple craft (and food)?!? Like hairbows or painting something - or jewelry (Nicole)? I LIKE that idea. I would offer my basement...

If it wasn't Monday night I'd recommend going to dinner too. I'm so in need of a break!

Hey ladies! Angels & Demons didn't work out last week, so we're going this week instead. {Monday, August 31st} We'll be meeting at my {Lora's} house at 9:10.

GNO tonight?

Is anyone interested in going to Angels and Demons tonight at 9:30 at the dollar theatre? I have very mixed emotions about the book, but am willing to see the movie.

Lora's father has passed away and she is sadly out of town. (So sorry, Lora.) Originally we had thought about going to see Angels and Demons at the dollar theatre, but Lora was the most excited. Because of this, I think we should wait until the following week.

So...

I propose a game night in my basement. All in favor?

Security - Updated

Thanks Lora for the post on the Harvest night. I'm looking forward to it...and yes, GNO was fun.

I want to bring your attention to the comment under the Harvest post. It's odd. The profile is odd. The 'joker' has a blog in a different language. He's (?) following this blog now. That bothers me.

Daniel just forwarded me a very long email about the twitter hack. It was a bit disturbing on the security front. I am going to put some real thought into taking my main blog private, but I think it might be even more vital with this one that tells when and where we will be. The thought of having random people lurking makes me a little sick to my stomach.

I do want this to be open to anyone, but I really think it might be best to have it be private and add only those that we know - of course still being welcoming to anyone that might be interested. What do you think?


Update: After talking more to Daniel about the comment left, we've realized that Lora mentioned Michael Jackson in her post and the commenter is obviously a fan if you look at his profile. Still disturbing though. I do think I will take this blog (but not my main one) private. I might change the address to match the title too. I like it better.

Harvest Exchange

Today, as I was looking at my garden, I was thinking, “I’m not going to have a lot to exchange.” Be that as it may, it will be nice to exchange information and ideas so I hope YOU can come. {I’m sorry, Amber, we’ll work your schedule into ours one of these months.} Feel free to email me or leave a comment if you have questions…

All-Star Lanes (7800 S and Redwood)

Meet there between 9:00-9:15pm (or so, we are super flexible. Hopefully kids will be in bed!)

So Few Layers

I'm still chuckling about Daniel's suggestion for the title of this blog. I had lamely titled it 'Just for Fun', but then he suggested 'So Few Layers' as a spin-off of my main blog. I hope to leave this blog public as everyone is invited. Hopefully this will be fun for everyone. Let's just make this the fun and simple part of our lives!

I hope no one gets bored by the lack of background excitement. I tried a pink template and couldn't do it. I'll add authors (let me know if you'd like to be one) and other things in the future. However, what I'm NOT going to do is stress about it.

And it begins...

Hey ladies!

Just got a wild hair and decided to start a blog to get all the women in my life together having fun. This is kind of starting from the River 3rd Ward women, (hence the blog address - r3women) however, ANYONE is welcome to join us. (Well, almost anyone - girl's only!) If fact, my sisters, neices, and hopefully other friends will come too -- if they want.

If you are reading this consider it your invitation to come have some fun. It will be your responsibility to check this blog. I may or may not remember to mention it to anyone in person. :)

Monday nights at 9:00pm are our weekly time for now. We'll rotate our activities which might include, but are not limited to, game nights and dollar theatres. You are welcome to suggest ideas or host. Some other stuff that might be of interest will be posted too.

I'm going to ask that for the most part you try to RSVP in the comments under the post for the GNO. It's okay if you don't and still want to come, but just try to get in the habit so we know who to plan on. (This is more helpful to know if it's at someone's house.)

So yay! I'm excited to try this. If there's 2 or 20 of us it doesn't matter - it's just fun to get together! Come and play!!
